What we do

Make- do and Mend with our invisible mending service

Before

This is a small tear before our skilled menders get to work their magic

Being Reweaved

You can see where the threads have carefully been reweaved matching up the Warp and the Weft

Finished Result

The remaining threads are then cut resulting in a Invisible mend

The damaged area is hand pressed flat prior to the reweave taking place

Threads are carefully unpicked from a concealed area and removed one at a time. they are then inserted by hand to exactly match the original weave pattern

The ends are then carefully removed resulting in the finished reweave result

A small damaged piece prior to it's reweaving

The invisible repair is then hand pressed in the last stage of this complex skilled process

Reweaving a History

Invisible mending dates back more than 250 years when skilled weavers repaired damage to cloth by taking individual threads from a hem, side seam or other concealed parts of the fabric to reweave them over the damaged area.

The boring stuff

Invisible mending is the method used not necessary the end result.
On certain fabrics especially two tone the result can be visible.
All threads are taken from part of the garment which is not exposed to sunlight/wear etc therefore the original colour can differ,

Only woven natural fabrics can be reweaved.
we cannot reweave any man made materials such as Polyester Nylon Acetate Acrylic Viscose etc.

All items must be dry cleaned prior to service.
